    How large is Peter Island?

    At 1,800 acres, Peter Island is the largest private island in the British Virgin Islands. Peter Island Resort is the only resort on the entire island.

    Is Peter Island non-smoking?

    All accommodations on Peter Island are non-smoking, but smoking is allowed on Peter Island in designated areas. Thank you for respecting this policy.

    How may I reach the Peter Island Resort front desk?

    Will I need a passport to reach Peter Island?

    Yes, passports are required to travel to the resort. For more information about entry requirements, visit www.gov.uk. Passports should not expire 6 months prior to travel.

    What is the dress code on Peter Island?

    Daytime Dining

    We invite you to enjoy breakfast and lunch in casual resort attire. Swimsuits should be covered, and we ask that cover-ups, shirts, wraps, and footwear be worn in all dining areas.

    The Drake Steakhouse

    Evenings at The Drake Steakhouse are an occasion to elevate your island style.
    Gentlemen are encouraged to wear dress shirts with resort slacks or shorts; ladies may wish to wear summer dresses or elegant separates. Sport coats, dress sandals, and resort-chic ensembles are always welcome.

    The Drunken Pelican

    Relaxed yet refined, smart casual or elevated resort wear sets the tone for evenings at The Drunken Pelican. We kindly ask that guests refrain from wearing swimwear, tank tops, or overly casual or revealing attire during evening service. Resort-appropriate footwear is appreciated.

    Sea Chest Boutique

    For your comfort and that of fellow guests, please ensure swimwear is covered with an appropriate cover-up, and footwear is worn at all times while visiting the boutique.

    Will I need electrical outlet adapters for my stay on Peter Island?

    If coming from the United States, you will not need any adapters. Like the US, the electricity on Peter Island is 110V / 60Hz. For guests arriving from Europe, adapters are available on the island, though they will not convert voltage.

    What is the most accepted form of currency in the British Virgin Islands?

    The U.S. dollar is the currency throughout the BVI, including at Peter Island Resort.

    In what time zone is Peter Island located?

    Atlantic Standard Time.

    Are there ATMs on Peter Island?

    There are no ATMs on the property. The nearest ATM is located on Tortola, which is a 20-minute ferry ride away. However, guests may withdraw up to $100 from the front desk for a 5% fee. Also note that any Peter Island Resort charge may be billed to your guest room and paid at check-out.

    Are there air-conditioned accommodations on Peter Island?

    Yes. All accommodations are individually climate controlled and feature a ceiling fan.

    Will there be a TV in my room?

    There are no TVs in the resort rooms or 2-Bedroom Villas.  Hawk's Nest and Falcon's Nest house the only TVs on property.

    Is the water safe to drink on Peter Island?

    Peter Island hosts its own reverse osmosis plant to desalinate our water. The water is safe and delightful.

    Is there Wi-Fi available on the island?

    Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all the rooms and common resort areas.

    Will I have cell phone coverage on the island?

    Cell phone coverage on Peter Island depends on your carrier, because you are in international territory. Please inquire with your provider.

    Policies

    Holiday Deposit & Cancellation Policy (Resort Rooms, Jr. Suites, and 2 Bedroom Villa)

    A non-refundable deposit of three nights’ accommodation, plus 25% tax and hotel service charge is due at the time of booking.  Final full prepayment (including all taxes and service charges) is due by October 1, 2025.  Cancellation is required by October 15, 2025 in order to receive refund of balance only (original 3-night deposit remains non-refundable.)  No credits or partial refunds will be issued if reservations are cancelled after October 15, 2025.

    Villa Deposit Policy

    A 50% deposit (to include room and the 25% tax & service charges) will be required at the time of booking. Final full payment will be due no later than 60 days prior to arrival.   

    Villa Cancellation Policy

    Full refund for any reservation cancelled or changed at least 60 days prior to arrival. 50% of full deposit is refundable if reservation is cancelled or changed between 45 and 59 days of arrival. No refunds for reservations that are cancelled or changed inside 45 days of arrival. Deposits will not be refunded if arrival is delayed or cancelled due to delayed, cancelled or missed flights or other transportation difficulties. Guests are therefore urged to purchase travel insurance. Cancellation policy does not apply to Holiday reservations, see below.   

    Villa Holiday Deposit & Cancellation Policy

    A 50% deposit (to include room and the 25% tax & service charges) will be required at the time of booking. This deposit is non-refundable. Final full prepayment (including all taxes and service charges) is due by October 1, 2025. Cancellation is required by October 15, 2025 in order to receive refund of balance only (original 50% remains nonrefundable). Deposits will not be refunded if arrival is delayed or cancelled due to delayed, cancelled or missed flights or other transportation difficulties. Guests are therefore urged to purchase travel insurance. No credits or partial refunds will be issued if reservations are cancelled after October 15, 2025.
